Nintendo Introduces a Social Network

Nintendo has always been about innovation.  Today they had a pre-e3 presentation of the Wii U.  The most noticeable piece of new information is Miiverse which stands for Mii Universe.  Miiverse is a social network designed for Wii U, but will also be available later this year on 3DS, PC, Android, and any other web enabled device.  Miiverse is truly amazing because you can be playing a game and interacting with other players via the new controller on the Wii U.  We expect to see something similar with the 3DS version of Miiverse, but we will have to wait and see when it rolls out later this year.  Also, the Wii U when first turned on loads you into the Miiverse which looks like the Mii Plaza except you can chat with other players directly.  You can type, draw, write, etc.  There is also a video chat capability and more.  Nintendo has really stepped it up.  With the ability to request help and chat right from the controller while playing another game.  There philosophy for this is playing together alone is now possible.  Single player games can be more socially involved now.
