Deadliest Catch Sea of Chaos Review

One of the most popular TV shows of all time is Deadliest Catch.  Up until recently there have been no attempts at a commercial game for the hit discovery show.  Though Deadliest Catch Sea of Chaos is not the first game created following this show, it's definitely worth noting.  On deciding which version of the game to review it's hard to tell.  Some people have stated that the Wii version is the best because of the motion controls and others favor the Xbox 360 and PS3 version because supposedly the graphics are better.  As far as this game is concerned the graphics are not much improved so if you like motion controls then go with the Wii version.

The Good
-It's Deadliest Catch!  What's not to love?
-Fun minigames
-Will appeal to most catch fans
-Lots of campaigns
-The art style is just decent, it's not perfect, but it looks ok
-Voice Acting
-Captain to Captain interactions

The Bad
-Only 5 minigames that are very repetitive
-The sort game can be frustrating because it seems that throwing the crab doesn't always work
-No completely open campaign mode (though there is an 8 season campaign, at the end you have to restart that campaign to keep going with it though.)

The Verdict
This game has gotten some really bad reviews.  It does NOT  appeal to regular gamers or players.  That is not the purpose though.  This is a game for hard core Deadliest Catch fans who want to go Crab Fishing.  As a catch fan I love it.  It needs some work, but is still a game I come back to time and time again.  However if Deadliest Catch was not my favorite show I probably wouldn't have given this game another look.
