Deadliest Catch Alaskan Storm Review

Deadliest Catch Alaskan Storm is the first commercial game made for Discovery's hit TV series Deadliest Catch.  The game has received some harsh reviews, but let's look at this from a Catch fan's perspective.

The Good

  • Graphics are beautiful!  They are so realistic it's hard to tell you are playing a game at times.
  • Ocean is super realistic with no 2 waves being the same
  • Sig Hansen gives you tips through out the game
  • Open Career Mode
The Bad
  • It gets annoying when you know the season is about to end so you start pulling your pots and your crew starts cussing at you for leaving good crab to avoid a fine
  • There are some game-breaking glitches like the game sometimes will crash while chipping ice that causes your ice chipping to not work for the rest of your career until you start a new one.
The Verdict
As a Catch fan I love it.  Captain Sig was involved in the development of the game and he did an excellent job making sure you have an authentic crab fishing experience as a captain.  If you are not a catch fan you probably won't care for it though.
