Nintendo Unveils a New Console

Nintendo has and always will be the leader in the video game industry selling more consoles and games than both Sony and Microsoft combined.  However, I'm not so sure how consumers are going to take to this new console known as Wii U.  The Wii U hardware looks like an Xbox 360, however the new controller looks like a huge half of a Nintendo 3DS.  With the original Wii we got a Wii Remote, which was truly revolutionary, while playing a sword game it became your sword, a golf game it became your clubs, and so on.  It appears with the original release notes that the Wii Remotes will still work with the Wii U, but most games will be going to this new controller.  The new controller actually has a screen built into it.
The Wii U, however will offer HD graphics, which is new on a Nintendo and the only complaint people had with the Wii.  They showed a few titles like Assassins Creed and Army of 2 which will be making their first Nintendo appearance.  The Wii U has some really great hardware in it, but I'm not sold on the controller being an over sized handheld.  We will just have to wait and see what Nintendo does with it.
