The biggest change I see is the growth of the mobile gaming market. iPhone always had a few cheesy games, but was never a serious threat to gaming. Android on the other hand has proven in it's own right to be powerful. You can now buy multiple home consoles powered by Android for less than $100 that provide multiplayer, HD graphics, and more with more affordable games. You can also pair a Wii Remote and classic controller to your Android Tablet or Smartphone and game where ever you go.
Handheld gaming has also been changing. 3DS is doing well, Vita is failing miserably. Both however are far behind the original Nintendo DS. This is thanks to items like the Moga controller. It's a beautifully built pocket controller that gives Dual Analog sticks, shoulder buttons, and 4 regular buttons to provide a console gaming experience that docks your Android phone to it. There are multiple products like this. Moga is just one of the best. It sells for only $30, less in some stores on Amazon and turns a device you already have into a powerful portable game console. They show off full 3D FPS games running on it along with Emulated games like Mario 64. It's a brilliant idea with great execution.
So, in short yes. Home and portable consoles are dying to an extent. I feel that Nintendo will always be around, Playstation and Xbox need some innovation to stay in the console wars, but in the end Android is reigning supreme.
