The Future of Computers

Computers have evolved drastically since the days of the first computer that took up a whole room to the small smartphones of today that fit in your pocket, but what's going to happen years down the road?  Many professionals agree that as phones are getting smarter and tablets are taking over the laptop space that we will see laptops gradually dwindle.  I don't look for tablets to last too awful long as they are more so an over sized smartphone anymore.  You can do the same things on your Android tablet as you can your Android phone and the same goes for iPad and iPhone.  The only tablet that's a little bit different from the phone is Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 and both of them are falling behind.  So, what's going to happen?  I look for Smartphones to be the number 1 and laptops and tablets to be virtually non-existent.  There are many times I need to look something up online or check my email.  I don't usually get my laptop for that.  I just grab my Android Smartphone since the phone can do just as much as most computers.  Games and apps are evolving and becoming more like traditional desktop apps designed for smaller touch screens though.  Even Google themselves stated that they feel Android and other Smartphones will someday be the only computer most people have.  There are currently more people running an Android Device than Windows 8 and the figures are close between 7 and Android.  I feel it's only a matter of time.
