First off on the release dates. There is no definite date, but the 3DS edition is scheduled for Summer of 2014 and Wii U is scheduled for Winter of 2014. Most people will likely be pleased with the 3DS version launching first as that is the most popular console on the market right now with the Wii U still losing money.
Along the lines of new features includes online multiplayer for both 3DS and Wii U editions along with a Final Destination version of nearly every stage.
The characters announced are Charizard, Sheik, Yoshi, Wii Fit Trainer Male, Zero Suit Samus, and Greninja. All of the returning characters feature new moves, and better balance. Also, Sheik,Charizard, and Zero Suit Samus are now stand alone characters and cannot transform mid battle. This is a major plus giving you an extra move.
Smash Bros. has never looked better and I anticipate more great things to be unveiled at E3 this year.
